Hey Diddle Diddle the Cat and the Fiddle! This month our littlest dolphins in Mrs. Allen’s and Mrs. McClellan's Pre-K classes are learning about nursery rhymes! Nursery rhymes are not only fun and engaging, but they are a great way to help children with language acquisition and speech development! These foundational language skills are the building blocks for later success in reading, writing, and effective communication! For the month of September Pre-K students are
focused specifically on the famous nursery rhyme, “Hey Diddle Diddle”. First students learned the rhyme, then sequenced it with pictures, and finally made a craft to help retell the rhyme to their families. As they read and enjoy these famous nursery rhymes students are incorporating multiple language concepts and positional words as well.
