Crab Soccer

The Crab Soccer Tournament is a huge deal at CRES! The annual tournament was held today in the gym and all fourth graders participated. During crab soccer, each class is given their own space to defend around the perimeter of a giant circle. Two giant soccer balls are placed in the middle of the circle. Each student is given a number (1-8) and when their number is called the students crab walk to the middle and try to kick the ball over or through another team’s perimeter.

The students on the perimeter must also be in the “crab” position and they try to defend their goal using their feet, head, and body (no hands allowed). At the end of the tournament, points are totaled and the team that has allowed the fewest points is declared the winner! To the students’ delight, Coach English always announces the winners through his own version of the classic poem, Twas the Night Before Christmas. Winners were announced today! Enjoy Coach Wade English’s poem and find out which class won this year!
