4th Graders

Our fourth graders have been diving deep into the world of nonfiction text structures and features! From identifying text structures like description, compare and contrast, cause and effect, sequence, and problem and solution to exploring text features such as titles, headings, captions, and graphic features like photographs and diagrams - our students are becoming text structure detectives! 🕵️‍📖 Recently, our fourth graders embarked on a hands-on activity inspired by "The Science of Sight" by Louise Spilsbury. They crafted pinhole cameras following detailed instructions and marveled at the upside-down images they captured. When looking through the pinhole camera, the object or person appeared upside down, which is “what your retina sees before your brain turns images the right way up,” according to Spilsbury. This project not only taught them about the science of sight but also emphasized the importance of teamwork and following instructions step by step. 📸🔍 Way to go, fourth graders! Keep exploring and learning together! 🌟 #TextStructures #HandsOnLearning #FourthGradeAdventures
