🗺️ Mapping Out Success at CRES! 🧭

Our first graders have been busy navigating new skills! After reading the story "On the Map" and discussing key text features and what makes up a neighborhood, students took on the role of cartographers to create their very own neighborhood maps. 🏠🌳

They practiced key social studies and reading skills by:

• Labeling key landmarks: Marking homes, parks, roads, and favorite community spots.

• Adding cardinal directions: Including a compass rose (North, South, East, West) to help guide the way.

• Building communication skills: Presenting their colorful creations and sharing unique neighborhood details with their classmates.
