Join CRES as we partner with Scholastic Books to benefit the Pajama Program, a national nonprofit organization from November 18 - December 18. We are in need of NEW children (or women’s adult) sized pajamas. It can be a pajama set or a night gown. Children’s pajamas must be marked as pajamas to ensure they are flame resistant. For every donation raised Scholastic Books will donate a brand new book to benefit the children of the Pajama Program.

🦃 Flock of Feathers Fundraiser 🦃 Hey Crooked River families! Get ready to flock together for a fantastic cause! Starting Wednesday, November 13, our school kicks off the Flock of Feathers Fundraiser—an exciting way to support our school while having a little feather-filled fun! 📅 Dates: November 13 to November 20 🕗 Time: 8:00 - 8:30 AM in the halls 💸 Cost: Feathers are $0.25 each or 5 for $1. Purchase feathers each morning and help fill up your grade’s turkey! The grade level with the most feathers by November 20 will win a sweet treat—an ice cream party! And that’s not all… their teacher will be “stuffed” into a turkey costume for the whole day! It’s a chance for students to see their teachers in a whole new (feathered!) light, so let’s pack those turkeys with feathers and cheer on our teachers. Help spread the word, rally your friends, and let’s fill those turkeys to the brim! 🦃 Let’s show our Crooked River spirit and make this fundraiser one to remember!

Dear Families, Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair. Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair. A parent letter was recently sent home about the upcoming Vocabulary Parade. The parade is unequivocally one of the best events here at CRES! Many families lost power for significant amounts of time during Hurricane Helene. This caused major food loss for those families. The River wants to provide support to those families in need that may experience hardship in replenishing their groceries. The River asks for your help to “Fill the Fridge”. If you would like to participate, you may purchase gift cards from either Publix or Winn-Dixie in $10 increments. This will allow easy distribution to those who are in need. You may send the gift cards in your child’s take home folders and/or drop them off in the “Fill the Fridge” box that will be walked around during car rider drop off. We are accepting gift card donations until October 8th. We thank you for your support and look forward to helping those who need it most.

School Closures in Response to Hurricane Helene Due to the potential for high winds, heavy rainfall and flooding associated with Hurricane Helene over the next two days, and with guidance from the National Weather Service and Camden Emergency Management Agency, Camden County Schools will close all schools Thursday, September 26, 2024, and Friday, September 27, 2024, for all staff and students. The safety of our students, employees, and their families will always be our first priority. In any emergency, it is critical for parents and students to rely on accurate, timely information directly from the school system or local and state officials. All official announcements regarding schools will be made on the Camden County Schools website, Facebook and Instagram pages, through the Camden County Schools app, on local radio stations – KBAY 106.3 and WECC 89.3, and on the Tribune and Georgian website. Please check one or more of these sources for updates regarding future decisions. We wish everyone the best as you prepare for the storm and make plans to ensure the safety of your families. Good morning Rockstar Families, We are rescheduling our Family Meeting Night to next week. It will be Thursday, October 3rd. We are excited to have you in our school and to have great discussions about academics, attendance and behavior. This will be easier for you to plan and commit to without the added worry about what is going to happen with the storm that may impact us to some degree. I have not received any information about schools closing due to the impact of the storm at this time. We just want to move to a night that does not have the added stress of bad weather.
